Frequently Asked Questions
Is this digital or traditional?
I'm asked this quite often. I worked in traditional mediums for years before I began exploring digital painting in 2013. Due to a chronic illness most of my large work is now digital. While I do still work in traditional mediums, they are often small pieces.
Most of my digital art is created using Photoshop and a Wacom Intuos. I sometimes also use Corel Painter and Mandelbulb 3D (a fractal generating program).
My traditional work is most often in graphite or watercolor. Originals can be purchased from my shop. Occasionally, I will offer prints of these.
Where's your Bird Whisperer Art?
My art for the BWP is a mix of sketches, drawings and finished paintings. Some pieces are NFS. If it's a digital painting, you'll find it here in my main shop. If it's a nature drawing/painting you should check my elusive Etsy shop.
What is the difference between Open Edition and Limited Edition Prints?
All of my prints are produced by a professional printer using archival quality inks and paper. Limited Editions are numbered/signed and printed on Somerset Velvet, 100% cotton rag. This is a sturdier, fine art paper, similar to watercolor paper.
Open Editions are printed with the same inks, but on a standard matte or lustre paper. I often sell open edition prints for all of my art at conventions.
I recommend framing my prints to protect them and prolong their life. You should refrain from placing them in direct sunlight, heat or humid environments.
Limited Edition Canvas Prints
I also have very limited canvas prints of my digital paintings. These are available framed through the conventions I attend.
I also offer open edition prints through my InPrnt shop.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Orders are shipped in 7-10 days. Once shipped most domestic orders take anywhere from 2 to 10 business days to arrive depending on the efficiency of your local postal service.
Do you accept orders placed outside the US?
Unfortunately, I no longer accept international orders my web shop. International shipping has become so expensive that in some cases the shipping fees cost more than the print.
Collectors outside the US can still purchase my art through the Changeling Artist Collective's auctions. If you're looking for prints, I suggest signing up for InPrnt's newsletter. They often run promotions for free shipping worldwide:
What if my order arrives damaged?
If your order arrives damaged please contact me within 14 days. You can send photos of damaged artwork and packaging to firstname.lastname@example.org. Prints can be replaced!
